POSITION TITLE:  Meat Portion Cutter

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Brampton – Poultry processing plant, Brampton, Ontario, CA


Olymel Brampton (Orenda Road plant or Westwyn Court plant), located in the Greater Toronto Area (50 minutes from downtown Toronto and 20 minutes from downtown Brampton), is a unionized poultry meat processing company. We are looking for employees who have desire to invest themselves in a leader in agrifood company. The Brampton plant is processing poultry products, such chicken nuggets, chicken burgers and other breaded and fried chicken products directly for our client who are mostly restaurants and our brands.

Position Summary

The Meat Portion Cutter will: manipulate product on the production line, manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers, cleaning work areas and equipment, feed and unload processing machines, check products and packaging for basic quality defects.

  • Performing manual tasks on the production line to process and package meat;
  • Ensure product meets customer specifications;
  • Capable of following direction from immediate supervisor;
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Competitive hourly wage, starting at 15.27$ excluding shift premium (0.40$ for evening shift and 0.60$ for night shift).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good manual dexterity;
  • Team-oriented and to multi-task;
  • Responsible and reliable;
  • Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive tasks in a fast paced environment;
  • Able to work in a refrigerated environment;
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • Capable of working on the production line while standing during the eight (8) hour shift;
  • Production experience is preferred;
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP regulations is an asset;
  • 1 year or more of experience in a similar employment;
  • Speaking French is an asset.
