POSITION TITLE: Internal Auditor, Food Safety & Quality

JOB STATUS: Full-time

ESTABLISHMENT: Boucherville – Bureau des ventes et administration


Reporting to the Food Safety & Quality Programs Manager, the incumbent act as a corporate resource for the implementation of all technical programs for our facilities in the Toronto, Ontario region. The incumbent will have, among others, the following responsibilities:  

  • Prepares manufacturing facilities and attend to third party and client audits, assure follow up and responses to audit reports and corrective actions.
  • Assures compliance of the facilities revision and updates of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)
  • Assists the manufacturing facilities team in the validation and annual reassessment process of their preventive control plans and HACCP system programs.
  • Provides supports to manufacturing facilities team in helping them with the management of non-conformance issues, corrective action, closure of CAR’s and preventive actions.
  • Provides supports to manufacturing facilities team in the implementation, follow-ups and respect of CFIA regulatory inspection programs.
  • Supports manufacturing facilities team in the implementation, maintenance and reassessment of quality and food safety certification programs (ex. SQF).
  • Participates to certification audits, CFIA audits and does internal audits required by different corporate programs, including animal welfare.
  • Verify implementation of traceability systems.
  • Verify implementation of food defense programs.
  • Provides support for the suppliers, co-manufacturers and external warehouses corporate audit programs.

 


Requirements 

  • College or University degree in Food Science or equivalent experiences.
  • Recognized auditor training and relevant experience in system audits.
  • 5 years of experience in the field of meat processing.
  • Good knowledge of the food environment, food safety systems and the related regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA)
  • Possess a good knowledge over food safety system (PCP’s, HACCP, C-TPAT, SQF, BRC, GFSI or equivalent)
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, internet)
  • Must be located in the Toronto, Ontario region and be able to move between sites.
  • Bilingualism

  • Good communication skills (spoken and written) with all stakeholders.
  • Analytical and synthetic judgment
  • Able to easily work with different departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously according to their priorities.
